I'm so excited to finally post some pictures of Lila's wardrobe. We haven't gotten a lot of stuff yet, but I'm looking forward to see what gifts bring!
Most of the stuff I've gotten on sale and is for next spring and summer! Sometimes I can't resist something that I will want to put on her right away, so I get the Newborn or 3 month sizes. This little diva will have plenty of clothes to wear, I'm sure!
Lila has been moving around and kicking like crazy. It seems like she never sleeps. I hope this isn't a look to the future! Maybe she's using all her energy now, so she'll be calm when she gets here. :) Hey, I can hope!
After having another sudden drop in my blood pressure at my last doctors appointment, things have been going great ever since. I've been getting back into exercising a little more and trying to keep the water retention to a minimum. My ankles come and go and I'm just waiting for the day when they go for good... :(
I finally picked out curtains to go in our bedroom. This has been something that I have been trying to accomplish for several months. The curtains that I really really wanted were like $100 a panel...imagine that. I have a taste for stuff I can't afford or rather refuse to pay insane amounts for fabric. Well I was at Target today and decided to look once more, even though I pretty much had the selections memorized. I found some that went with the room and weren't too boring, which was one of my biggest concerns.
Tonight, Neil and I are going to one of my best friend's babies 2nd birthday party. I guess he's not much of a baby anymore. He's getting so big, I can't believe it sometimes when I look at him. It makes me so sad that it really won't be long before Lila will be that age too. Anyway, I'm going to get back to my Friday off and get some stuff done!!
Have a great weekend!!

Just some picture comparisons
I was looking at all of the pictures that we have taken throughout the pregnancy so far and comparing them. It's amazing how much your body really does change during pregnancy. I thought I would post and share these pictures. You've seen most of them, but it's way cooler when they're side-by-side.
Isn't it crazy! I can't believe I'm already in the 3rd trimester. It will be no time at all before Lila is with us! Can't wait!

May be our only child...
Well, I went to have my glucose test done on Friday and let's just say, was that ever an experience. I was feeling great that morning, ready to rock the world. I slept in a little, got to the doctor and drank "the stuff". It was more or less what I thought it would be based on what others have told me. I got the orange flavor. There wasn't that much to drink either. So I drank it down and started to read my book while I waited on the nurse to call me back to see the doctor. Everything was going amazingly well, I told her and updated her on my ER visit that I had had about three weeks prior. I haven't had any "episodes" or "issues" since then and I was really feeling pretty good.
So we talked and she listened to Lila's heartbeat, which was normal and measured my uterus, which was normal. I even expressed my concern about the size of our sweet baby and how she was measuring about two weeks larger than what my due date and the mass amounts of emails were telling me she should be. Doc assured me that everything was probably fine and that she couldn't "see" me delivering a huge baby. She said that they would keep monitoring and perhaps even do another ultrasound in a month or so to see if they saw and measured the same things as Granny De.
After that she sent me out the door to watch the oh so lovely epidural video so if I chose to have one, I could. I was still feeling pretty good. Looking forward to getting out of there and treating myself to some lunch and a sweet tea at McAllisters's.
Just then it hit me like a ton of bricks, or rather like being tossed out of the spaceship with no oxygen. I get up and tell the receptionist that I'm not feeling well and that I think I need to lie down. I told her that this had happened before and they told me I was dehydrated. She told the nurse and was going to bring me some water. I couldn't take it. I was seriously about to pass out right there in the waiting room in front of some dude waiting on his wife and an older lady that I could swear was thinking, "I'm glad I'm not there anymore".
So I went back and laid down and the nurses were a nervous wreck. The doctors were making me drink coke because they were convinced that after my blood sugar had sky rocketed from the glucose, it had then plummeted. Well I'm a coke lover, but trying to drink it while laying down and already nauseous is not that great of a thing. The carbonation and acid goes right back up to your throat and makes it even harder to keep your cool. Not to mention, this entire time my blood pressure is bottoming out, then going back to normal, then bottoming out again. In case you were wondering, this doesn't make for the greatest experience. The only good thing about the whole situation was that I was at my doctors' office when it all went down.
After about an hour of this and the nurses trying to call Neil to come pick me up because there was no way in hell that they were letting me leave that office on my own, my blood pressure finally went back to normal and I was able to leave. The kind nurse, Tina, told me that baby Lila was getting a spanking when she came out and if I didn't do it, she would. God bless her. I had the poor woman a nervous wreck! As we left, I told Neil that this may be our only child, unless he could convince me that all of this stuff never really happened (which I'm secretly hoping he can, because I know we both want more kids!).
Once I got out of there, my darling husband took me to lunch to try to get and keep my blood sugar levels at a good point. It was a nice and relaxing day after that. I slept for most of the afternoon. It's amazing how tired you can get by have you blood pressure on a roller coaster ride. Lila has been a good girl to mommy since then and I have tried to be good to her.
We spent the weekend relaxing (and eating mass amounts of wonderful food) by the pool. Sleeping was in there too. I had to go back to work today, which consisted of driving ALL the way across the state to do a training tomorrow for my job. From the hotel room....have a wonderful night!

Baby Clothes
I have been wanting to buy baby clothes for a while now. Not just the walking through the store and pick something up because you "happened to see and like it", but really look through some options and pick out stuff I like and get it. So tonight I got online and purchased a few things. I got stuff that was 3 months and 6 months. I figured why buy all kinds of newborn stuff? As one of my family members told me, "you will get all kinds of newborn stuff, she won't be able to wear it all". Well I sure hope so, because I've certainly been trying NOT to buy newborn sizes.
We have gotten some stuff from family members and friends, but from what I hear and how many clothes babies go through a day ( I think it's more than any celebrity out there), we will needs tons of stuff!!
How about diapers? I have been clipping every coupon I see! I try to get a package, whether it be regular size or jumbo box, when we go to Wal-Mart or Target or whereever. Again, babies go through quite a few diapers! I'm hoping to get about 1 million at my baby shower. The other night, I guess Neil was doing some research on babies and he walked away from the computer towards me with this "deer in the headlights" look on his face. He said to me, "Do you know that newborns go through approximately 12 diapers a day?". I was like, "oh yeah...that's a shit ton of diapers too".
Anyway, I have my glucose test tomorrow morning at the doctor. I've good hear terrible things about it and I've heard that it's not that bad. I really hope that I pass. I don't eat a ton of sweets, but I have my fair share. Also I need to ask her about the swelling...already! Oh my. It's not good and I have 13 weeks left. What the heck am I going to do?
Everyone in blog land say a little prayer for me, please. I want to wish everyone a splendid 4th of July weekend! For those expecting, let's try to relax and enjoy because next year we won't have the peace and quiet...but it will be so much better!

Big Baby?
So, it's been a while. We're done with weddings for a while. Every bride that we saw was GORGEOUS! You guys know who you are. Now we are looking forward to finishing up a couple projects around the house. We've almost...almost got the fence completed. We have one gate left and we need to put the latches on. Then it's on to trying to get a patio finished. Who knows how long that will take. We have to get sand and bricks and level out the land before we put the bricks down. I hope we get it done before the summer is over. It will be really nice to spend some lovely FALL weather outside with the baby.
Speaking of baby, we're making more decisions about Lila's nursery. I thought I had the bedding picked out, but it's a harder decision than I thought. We are going to get new carpet in her room and the third bedroom. The carpet that is in there now is the ugliest maroon carpet there ever was. It's in good shape, but gracious, it's ugly. So that's yet another project that we need to get done before the arrival.
Lila is growing by the minute. I went and had another ultrasound last Friday by my wonderful step-mom. I was 26 weeks 3 days according to my original due date and Lila measured at 28 weeks 2 days. AHHH! I'm starting to get a little freaked out. I hope she doesn't grow to be like a 10 lb baby! Right now she's 2lbs 12oz, but I've heard that babies slow their roll on growth a little in the 3rd trimester. Let's hope so, because I don't know how I'm gonna get something that huge out! Again, ahhhhhh!!!
Also registering, for stuff isn't quite that easy either. I know I've forgotten about a million things. Thank goodness my shower isn't going to be until August!
Tomorrow I will be 27 weeks, which puts me at the first week of my 3rd trimester. I will post 3rd trimester pictures in the next update. Good night to all you bloggin peeps! Have a great week! Adios from the last day of my 2nd trimester!!!! XOXO

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings!!!
The time is here! It's wedding season! I'm so excited for so many people I know and love to be getting married this summer. I absolutely LOVE going to weddings, although I haven't been to one since I've been married, so I'm wondering if it will feel different.
I used to go and just stare at everything, the bride, the decor, the cake, etc, just thinking of ways that I could incorporate my favorite things from that particular wedding into my own. Well now that I'm married and don't have to come up with ideas anymore, I'm wondering what it will feel like. I thinking instead of crying because I'm not sure if I will ever get married and have all of this stuff, I will just be crying at so happy I am that the ones I love are experiencing something so great, just like I have. AHHHHH! I'm just so excited!
So this week, according to my original due date given to me from my doctor at the VERY beginning, I'm 24 weeks along. According to the 5 ultrasounds I've had though, which have all measured baby growing at a constant rate, I have a due date of a week earlier (which I have to say, I like a little better). I know that one week is not going to make a huge difference, but I still like September 21st better.
We have also named Baby Atkins....finally. I guess it's not too uncommon to wait this long, but a lot of people I know have their baby named the second they conceive. We've decided to go with Lila. It's a name that can grow with her. I could see her with it at 1 and 85. We also like it because it's not super duper popular, but at the same time it's not one of those names that someone will have trouble with every time they see it. Most of you know what I'm talking about.
Lila's crib came this week as well. A lot of big stuff happening this week. Many many many thanks to Grandma Jane and Grandpa Jack for getting the crib for us. We absolutely love it. Neil and I spent a little longer than it should have taken, probably, putting up the crib last night. It's the only piece we have so far for the nursery so it still looks a little bare, but it will get there soon.
Now all we need is the mattress and the bedding to make the crib look complete! I'd like to take out the nasty maroon carpet as well, but We'll see further down the line about that.
One last thing...I had a very scary moment this week with baby and health. I had to go to the ER because I was apparently severely hydrated. I didn't even realize it. I was drinking and peeing just the same as I always do. I thought I was taking in plenty of water, but I guess Lila is sucking me dry. So now I am having to really concentrate on drinking TONS of fluids! If any other pregos are reading this, let this be your warning...DRINK UP!
Quick good luck to my sister-in-law and her soon to be husband on their upcoming nuptials this weekend. Everything will be beautiful and work out perfect!

Summer: Busy Busy Busy
So I've officially started freaking out about all things baby. What are we going to do about a babysitter? We don't have anything done for the nursery. Are we awful parents already? What are we gonna do when we have had so little sleep we are about to kill each other?
I'm sure that most of you are thinking, "Been there, done that", but it's all new to me. How do you deal with these things? I guess the answer is the same for everything else that is new in your life. You take it as it comes and roll with it. Learn from your mistakes and do the right thing the next time around. HAHAHA If only everything were this easy! :)
If you're wondering what the hell this is, you've come to the right place. Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields are the two dermatologists that created the world famous Proactiv Solution. They have expanded their products to help all skin types, not just acne. I'm so excited to be an independent consultant, I just want to share the wealth with people! Now you would think that people would want to jump in with me, but it's not always the case. I'm here to tell you all, this is a great opportunity, take advantage of it if you can!
Now that I've had my sales pitch, we can more on to more important things...Baby Atkins!!
We have picked out a crib!Once we get this, it will be so much easier to start getting things ready once we get the crib. (Thanks Grandma Jane and Grandpa Jack!)
Now it's trying to get the rest of the registry done. It is so hard to know all of what you will need. There's needs to be a professional go around the store with you and help you pick things out. I mean new mothers would probably be great at this job!
I will keep you all updated with the things we get! As soon as we get outfits washed, I'll be putting plenty of pictures up!
From 23 weeks...have a great day!
