Big Baby?

So, it's been a while. We're done with weddings for a while. Every bride that we saw was GORGEOUS! You guys know who you are. Now we are looking forward to finishing up a couple projects around the house. We've almost...almost got the fence completed. We have one gate left and we need to put the latches on. Then it's on to trying to get a patio finished. Who knows how long that will take. We have to get sand and bricks and level out the land before we put the bricks down. I hope we get it done before the summer is over. It will be really nice to spend some lovely FALL weather outside with the baby.

Speaking of baby, we're making more decisions about Lila's nursery. I thought I had the bedding picked out, but it's a harder decision than I thought. We are going to get new carpet in her room and the third bedroom. The carpet that is in there now is the ugliest maroon carpet there ever was. It's in good shape, but gracious, it's ugly. So that's yet another project that we need to get done before the arrival.

Lila is growing by the minute. I went and had another ultrasound last Friday by my wonderful step-mom. I was 26 weeks 3 days according to my original due date and Lila measured at 28 weeks 2 days. AHHH! I'm starting to get a little freaked out. I hope she doesn't grow to be like a 10 lb baby! Right now she's 2lbs 12oz, but I've heard that babies slow their roll on growth a little in the 3rd trimester. Let's hope so, because I don't know how I'm gonna get something that huge out! Again, ahhhhhh!!!

Also registering, for stuff isn't quite that easy either. I know I've forgotten about a million things. Thank goodness my shower isn't going to be until August!

Tomorrow I will be 27 weeks, which puts me at the first week of my 3rd trimester. I will post 3rd trimester pictures in the next update. Good night to all you bloggin peeps! Have a great week! Adios from the last day of my 2nd trimester!!!! XOXO

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings!!!

The time is here!  It's wedding season!  I'm so excited for so many people I know and love to be getting married this summer.  I absolutely LOVE going to weddings, although I haven't been to one since I've been married, so I'm wondering if it will feel different.

I used to go and just stare at everything, the bride, the decor, the cake, etc, just thinking of ways that I could incorporate my favorite things from that particular wedding into my own.  Well now that I'm married and don't have to come up with ideas anymore, I'm wondering what it will feel like.  I thinking instead of crying because I'm not sure if I will ever get married and have all of this stuff, I will just be crying at so happy I am that the ones I love are experiencing something so great, just like I have.   AHHHHH!  I'm just so excited!

So this week, according to my original due date given to me from my doctor at the VERY beginning, I'm 24 weeks along.  According to the 5 ultrasounds I've had though, which have all measured baby growing at a constant rate, I have a due date of a week earlier (which I have to say, I like a little better).  I know that one week is not going to make a huge difference, but I still like September 21st better.

We have also named Baby Atkins....finally.  I guess it's not too uncommon to wait this long, but a lot of people I know have their baby named the second they conceive.  We've decided to go with Lila.  It's a name that can grow with her.  I could see her with it at 1 and 85.  We also like it because it's not super duper popular, but at the same time it's not one of those names that someone will have trouble with every time they see it.  Most of you know what I'm talking about.

Lila's crib came this week as well.  A lot of big stuff happening this week.  Many many many thanks to Grandma Jane and Grandpa Jack for getting the crib for us.  We absolutely love it.  Neil and I spent a little longer than it should have taken, probably, putting up the crib last night.  It's the only piece we have so far for the nursery so it still looks a little bare, but it will get there soon.

Now all we need is the mattress and the bedding to make the crib look complete!  I'd like to take out the nasty maroon carpet as well, but We'll see further down the line about that.

One last thing...I had a very scary moment this week with baby and health.  I had to go to the ER because I was apparently severely hydrated.  I didn't even realize it.  I was drinking and peeing just the same as I always do.  I thought I was taking in plenty of water, but I guess Lila is sucking me dry.  So now I am having to really concentrate on drinking TONS of fluids!  If any other pregos are reading this, let this be your warning...DRINK UP!

Quick good luck to my sister-in-law and her soon to be husband on their upcoming nuptials this weekend.  Everything will be beautiful and work out perfect!

Summer: Busy Busy Busy

So I've officially started freaking out about all things baby.  What are we going to do about a babysitter?  We don't have anything done for the nursery.  Are we awful parents already?  What are we gonna do when we have had so little sleep we are about to kill each other?

I'm sure that most of you are thinking, "Been there, done that", but it's all new to me.  How do you deal with these things?  I guess the answer is the same for everything else that is new in your life.  You take it as it comes and roll with it.  Learn from your mistakes and do the right thing the next time around.  HAHAHA  If only everything were this easy! :)

Now on to other things.  Summer is here!!!!  I guess it has been for a while, but it seems like it has just hit me!  It will be no time before I'm a cow and am so swollen I can hardly move.  Then comes the good part!  I've heard, however, that this part can be the longest part of the whole pregnancy...waiting out the last few months.  It's a good thing that I've got some stuff to keep me busy.  Other the the obvious, getting ready for all things baby, I've got ballgames of my brother's to go to, plenty of activities, and probably second on my list of exciting is the new business I'm involved in, Rodan+Fields Dermatologists.

If you're wondering what the hell this is, you've come to the right place.  Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields are the two dermatologists that created the world famous Proactiv Solution.  They have expanded their products to help all skin types, not just acne.  I'm so excited to be an independent consultant, I just want to share the wealth with people!  Now you would think that people would want to jump in with me, but it's not always the case.  I'm here to tell you all, this is a great opportunity, take advantage of it if you can!

Now that I've had my sales pitch, we can more on to more important things...Baby Atkins!!
We have picked out a crib!

Once we get this, it will be so much easier to start getting things ready once we get the crib.  (Thanks Grandma Jane and Grandpa Jack!)
Now it's trying to get the rest of the registry done.  It is so hard to know all of what you will need.  There's needs to be a professional go around the store with you and help you pick things out.  I mean new mothers would probably be great at this job!

I will keep you all updated with the things we get!  As soon as we get outfits washed, I'll be putting plenty of pictures up!

From 23 weeks...have a great day!
