Slow down.....

Not only have I been so anxious, nervous, worried about Lila coming, but I haven't been able to slow myself down at all.  I was icky at work all day today and decided that it was mostly exhaustion and my body was really just telling me that it can't do what it usually does.  I have got to slow down.  I have so many things running through my head; things that I need to do before baby gets here, things that need to be done on a daily basis, things that I WANT to do to try to keep my life normal.  With all this stuff going on, I realized today that I'm going just as hard as I was at 20 weeks.  I don't think my body, or this baby for that matter, likes it very much either.

I was 35 weeks pregnant yesterday and as you can see above, Little Miss Lila gave us a great profile pic this weekend.  She's so precious, even when she was trying to get her foot to come out of my belly button.  Sorry missy, you've still got a few more weeks in there!

It's killing me how slow (and fast at the same time) time is moving.  We are actually ready for her to get here.  We physically have everything we need, except for a baby bathtub, which we really don't need for the first little bit anyway.  I think, we are mentally prepared for what's going to happen and how are lives are going to be different.  It's so funny.  We'll just be laying in bed or cooking supper or something else totally normal and one of us will look at the other and be like "We're gonna have an actual real life baby in this house in a few weeks".  We just kinda think about it for a minute and then we're like "Yeah, we'll be ok!".  HAHAHA  Totally random moments like that are priceless.  I'm sure every first time mom and dad go through the same thing.

I also got to thinking about some super serious earlier...hahah, not so much.  Most of you who know me, know that I like to change the color of my hair from season to season.  I got to thinking, what if I want to change my hair color in a couple months to a little bit darker, to ya know...go with the fall trend, and my baby doesn't recognize me when I get home.  How does this work?  Do they just know your scent, know your voice, know your touch or do they actually recognize you face and, for example hair color?  I'm going to be doing some research on this, but if anyone has any advice, feel free to let me know!

Now since I need to be "slowing down", I'm going to lay down and rest for a bit.  From 35 weeks and counting, have a wonderful day!!!

6 weeks and counting...

You know you're in the home stretch when you start going to the doctor every week.  I went today and go back every week from now on.  It's getting very exciting now!  We have still been getting more and more gifts which are totally taking over our house.  Thanks to all for everything you have given to us.  We appreciate you thinking about us during this time!

Little brother has football games coming up.  Nothing is better than the anticipation of the beginning of football...and really I'm more of a basketball fan, but football is just so exciting!  Can't wait for his stress fracture to heal so he can get out there and play some football.  It will keep my mind off of the weeks, days, and minutes left in this pregnancy!  Plus little Lila can't wait to see her Uncle Capel play football!  She's already got lots of clothes to wear to the games.

Littlest brother turned 5 today.  He acts like he's about 10 though.  He got all kinds of presents.  Deanna, I'd like you to notice that we got him a very educational, sound free game.  Please return the favor.  Thanks!

34 Weeks!

Baby Shower!!!

Lila's baby shower was such a success!  This post is mostly going to be pictures, which I'm sure you all will love since you won't have to listen to me rant for another blog post! :)

I just want to throw out a quick THANK YOU to everyone who helped and all those who came and we part of the day!  It was so nice to see everyone!

Here it goes!!

The 2 Beautiful Diaper Cakes
by Courtney and Ashley

The swing and the bouncer seat

Carseat (stroller to match)

The bedding in the crib

2 new diaper bags
Zebra is from the Courtneys & the cute flower one is from Kristen

Bows and bowboards

Stuffed animals, piggy bank, & lila letters (not sure where they are going to go yet)

Needless to say we got sooo much great stuff!  This doesn't even show all the super cute clothes that would take up so much memory on this blog, we wouldn't be able to show anything else!

We are so ready now for this baby to get here!  We have everything we need.  Even the knowledge for childbirth.  We got to attend our childbirth class on Saturday.  I'm still wanting to birth without an epidural.  I've watched the video so when I start cussing people out and screaming bloody murder, I can still call in the anesthesiologist and threaten his life until he sticks that catheter in my spinal cord.  I'm trying to be brave and strong, but also realistic!  We'll see how it all goes.  Neil has taken note and knows how to tell me to breathe and focus and is fully prepared for me to start cussing and screaming.  My only hope is that he doesn't, in turn, start cussing and screaming!

From 32 (almost 33) weeks, have a wonderful day!

You can see that he's not put on ANY sympathy weight!

Third Tri=First Tri????

So I'm finding that the 3rd trimester is very similar to the 1st trimester, with the exception of being big and uncomfortable.  I'm just as tired now as I was for the first several weeks of the pregnancy.  I find that when I get home from work, the only thing I want to do is take a nap.  Now, for those of you who know me, my naps aren't like normal naps.  They are more like 3-4 hour naps.  This feels so good at the time, but then when bedtime rolls around, I'm completely thrown off.  I find myself tossing and turning for an hour just to fall asleep, then 30 minutes later up again for a bathroom run!

I've read lots of material, as most women do during their first pregnancies.  Most of them say that it's kind of split on the women who have all kinds of energy in the 3rd ti and those of us who are struggling to make it home from work before we fall asleep.  I kept hoping that I was going to be one of those who could just go go go, but I guess I have to face the fact that I'm not! :(

My baby shower is this weekend and like many other knocked up women out there who have created registries, I've been stalking it since the day the invites went out.  My mom thinks I'm spoiling it for myself, but I told her, that I still don't know who got what.  It's still going to be quite surprising to receive all these gifts.  The only part I have a problem with at showers is having all the attention on me.  Now I know, that's what a shower is and if I had it my way, I wouldn't have one, but my family and friends have convinced me that it's the right thing to do.  So I'm putting my big girl panties on and taking one for the team (by team, I mean family...you're welcome husband!).

We got our changing table this past week from another set of Grandparents (Thanks Grandpa and Judi).  Now we have somewhere to change the stinky butt!  Not that we couldn't have gotten by without it, but it's also great for storage.  Now I can put all the clothes in there that I've been getting in trouble for buying!  Sorry Neil, but our baby has to have clothes. :)  Do you want her to have to go places in just a diaper?

At 32 weeks, time is ticking away quite quickly!  Once we get the things from the shower, it will be THAT much more real and we'll be ready to go.  Now to imagine how our lives will be flipped upside-down.  It will be GREAT!  I'll try to get some pics up in my next post, which I promise will not take me 2 weeks to get up here!
