Pinning less, reading more

I am still "Pinteresting" some these days, but I really cut my craft time down.  I just don't have a lot of time to do the things I want.  I'm going to get back into it soon though.  One thing I have to share that I found on Pinterest was How to curl your hair with a curling iron on a blog called The Small Things Blog.  This girl is amazing.  She is a professional stylist and a great teacher on how to do hair.  I'm a big dummy on doing my hair, so if I can do it, anyone can.  I haven't taken (and will not take) a picture of myself to show, but it turned out really well.  All this time, I've been curling from the ends to the root and I learn how to do it right and I'll be damned...IT WORKED.  Even day two it's still curled and looks pretty good or so my co-workers say! LOL  Check her out!!!  http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/p/hair-style-tutorials.html  I'm telling you the girl is a great teacher!!!

After about 3 years of making fun of my husband for liking, ahem LOVING, Harry Potter, he's got me hooked.  It took about 2 years to get me to even agree to watch a movie with him (maybe I enjoyed it a little, but only because of his company) without cocktails and the promise of a massage after.  Now, I am proud to say that I am on the fourth HP book and am really quite enjoying it.  I am a firm believer in "the books are better than the movies", but this is taking it to another level.  I'm happy that I have watched the movies so I kinda know what's going on and have the pictures of the characters in my head, but there are so many more details in the books that don't leave you guessing at how or why something happened.  All in all, I'm glad I decided to read the books and I just have to say, I have now read more in the HP collection than Neil has! :)  I just have to rub that in his face.

I'm probably getting ready to take a break after The Goblet of Fire to read a book for our SCUW (Saline County University Women) annual book review.  We will be reviewing The Paris Wife by Paula McLain.  It's about the marriage of Earnest Hemmingway and Hadley Richardson.  Has anyone read this?  What are your thoughts?  Let me know!  Thanks.

Update on how Lila is doing.  She's a crazy mess!  What a hoot....

She is "jumping" all over the place.  Almost looks like she's skipping or trotting or galloping...not sure, but she thinks it's jumping and it's hilarious!  She gets so excited when we tell her to jump and a few days ago, she actually did leave the ground for a millisecond.

She grunts when she goes down a step, like it's REALLY REALLY hard to do.  I'm sure she's just heard me do this (ya know since it's hard for me to up and down steps, LOL) and picked it up.  She loves basketball.  She thinks every player on tv is Uncle Capel.  She gets pretty excited at the games.  Again, probably gets that from me.  Yelling at players, heckling the refs :), etc...  She got a new basketball goal and loves to "shoot it".

Just within the last week she has been shutting the book and saying "the end".  Again something we never taught her, but I realized that I say it all the time when reading to her.  It's totally cute.  The last thing that she has picked up from us is "see ya".  She will say it to any and everyone when we are leaving somewhere.  She is just a little person.

Her ears are doing wonderful since the tubes.  She has cut 3 molars and we have no sign of an ear infection (as I knock on wood).  She got some hot pink, super cool ear plugs for the bath and is doing great with them.  She loves to splash.

Reality TV

I love it.  LOL  This may be one of the shortest blogs I've ever done, but I just have to say that I love the Kardashians!  I love them.  I don't care what you think.  I'm doing a little catch up on Kourtney and Kim and I must say, Kris Humphries is a douchebag.  He is the worst husband ever.  I think the snake in his bed was THEFUNNIESTTHINGEVER!!!!!!  Also, I never thought I would say this, but I like Scott now.  I really do.

I caught up on Revenge last night after catching up on The Bachelor.  It was a long night.  :)

First of all, Tyler is crazy.  AND...if you haven't watched this week's, stop reading, or at least skip this part...I can't believe that Charlotte is David Clarke's daughter.  WOW.  I am so excited for the next episode!!

Neil has been wanting lasagna for the past few days so I, being the wonderful wife that I am, went and got all the ingredients tonight.  It's currently in the oven while my two babes are sleeping.  I'm gonna go pull the food out of the oven and get the table set for dinner!

Tomorrow is Friday!  Basketball Friday as I like to refer to it.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!  XOXO

Tired, lazy day

Today Lila got tubes.  We had to be up at 4:30 to get to the facility at 6:00 and then keep her happy until 7:15 since she wasn't allowed to have any food or drink.  Aside from just being antsy from not being able to go around everywhere, she was perfect.  It was not a very good experience coming out of the anesthesia.  She screamed for about 30 minutes.  I felt so bad for her.  She slept in the car on the way home, thank goodness.

So we got home and I just wanted to lazy.  Lila, however, has been going strong almost all day, except for a little nap this afternoon.  Now she's just testing the waters on mommy's patience, but hitting, slapping, and throwing fits.  Uh oh!  She's also wanting to blog with me.

I've decided to pick back up on watching  The Bachelor this season.  Call me crazy, but I've missed it.  I think the last time I watched it was when Travis was the Bachelor which was I don't know was how many years ago.  Anyway, I'm already behind, but I'm catching up as we speak.  I'm watching episode 1 right now and I've already picked some favorites.  Lindzi (the horse rider); the British girl, I can't remember her name at the moment.  I don't like the model, Courtney.  I don't like pageant girl.  I don't like the grandma girl.  I don't like Monica.  Whew.  I'm sure there will be more.

I'm also behind on Revenge.  It's killing me.  I have got to catch up.

I have always been the kind of person who would NEVER get a tattoo...EVER.  Well things changes.  Obviously my life has changed a lot and I found a tattoo that I just couldn't get out of my mind.  I just had to have it.  I finally did it!  And I'm still so excited that I got it!  I love it.

The other big thing going on right now in my life is I'm thinking about running another marathon.  The only thing that is really holding me back right $120 entry fee.  I think I have gotten my motivation back to where it needs to be and I know I have the support of my husband and family.  I just need to make the decision!  HELP!!!

Welcome 2012

I think this is going to be a great year!  I'm so excited about all the new things it's going to bring.  I'm hoping life settles down (but not too much) and I can get a lot of things done.

Here is a list of ***SOME*** of the things that I'd like to do in 2012:
(in no particular order)
Eat healthier
Be a better wife and mother
Run another marathon (I hate to say this, but I'll settle for a half if I have to)
Take more pictures and videos of life in general
Dance more
Cook more
Show a little more love to everyone
Keep up on my blog more often :)
Save a little time for MYSELF
Enjoy all the small things
SMILE

I am currently working on getting pictures from Christmas uploaded.  As soon as I get that done, I'll share some of my faves!

Happy 2012 to EVERYONE!!!
