Well lets see....

Spiders, snakes, etc... All the girl things. :)

I also have some weird ones too (and don't make fun). I'm scared to death of going to sleep and waking up blind, deaf, or paralyzed. Of course who wouldn't be, but these are things I think of a lot and that frightens me even more!

I'm scared that something will happen and I'll never get to spend another day with my family and friends. I'm scared that someone will hurt my daughter in a way that can't be healed. I'm scared that I won't have the strength to be a mother when it really matters. I think I could go on and on. It's weird how motherhood changes you.

I also want to say that after an evening in Davenport Gymnasium alone last night with my daughter (letting her run around in her walker in the wide open space), I'm now a little freaked out by the supernatural. I have heard for years and years that Harrisburg High School is haunted. My dad is a teacher there and I went to high school there and stories have been told ever since I can remember. Sometimes they will go ghost hunting in the school at night. :) Crazies! So last night, Lila and I are up there and it was still light outside, but not super bright in the gym. I was trying to get her to run around, but she was so amazed by the vast openness that she pretty much stood still and looked at me the whole time. I'm running around acting like a crazy person trying to make her laugh and get excited and I kept hearing "stuff". Sounds of people in the bleachers (that were closed up), the floor moving in places 80 feet from where I was standing, and the straw that broke the camel's back was the shadow that I saw streak across the floor. It was at that point that we picked and got the hell outta Dodge.

I was freaked! So I just want to say that all the people who have told me those stories (I never doubted you, for the record), but now I TOTALLY know what you're talking about. WEIRD!

I didn't like this post AT ALL.

Post #9 - A picture of your friends

I love my friends just as much as I love my family! They are so great! We don't ever get together as much as we want to anymore, but when we do...what a ball we have!

This picture is about 3 years old. We've been together since, just no pics were taken.

Love y'all soooooo much!!!! Can't wait to get together again!

It's been cold and yucky here and I think it's throwing Lila off. She did not sleep well last night and hasn't now for a few weeks. We had a couple of nights that were amazing, but now we're back on with the up two and three times a night. Coffee has been a lifesaver and that's the ONLY reason that I'm thankful for not still breastfeeding. Hopefully, things will get back to normal here. It will stop snowing (in springtime), Lila will start sleeping better, the good weather will bring great attitudes and fun times!

I got Lila laughing the other day and have been wanting to get this video up all weekend. She laughs like Bevis or Butthead or both.... It's too cute though.

I've been several places, but all pretty normal places. One of the most interesting places I've been is where my Grandma Fern grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She grew up in a small town called Ishpeming and is very similar to Harrisburg, I think. I've only been there a handful of times, 2 that I can remember. I went for a week when I was 14 and of course was very disappointed when I came home a week later and had completely lost my tan.

Not only is the weather way different, but life is too! It's almost like being in Canada. Every sentence is ended in "eh" and the is pronounced "da" thus "da yoopers". They have these weird things called pasties, which I have no idea what they are, but my mom and aunts and other family rave over them. Maybe next time I go, I'll try one.

Another thing that just floors me about this place is how they are so used to snow in mass amounts. About 3 years ago, I joined my mom and grandma in a trip up there. The day/night before we got there it has snowed something crazy like 19 inches or something. The roads did not have a flake on them. If that had happened here, we wouldn't have gone to school for a week!

This place is called Suicide Hill. My grandma grew up in a place that had enough snow for a ski slope! I seriously don't know if I could do this. I like warm weather WAY too much!

I'd love to take Lila there to see all of our relatives who still live there, but we are DEFINITELY going in the summer! When it's 100 degrees here, it's about 70 there. I can take that, I think!

Where do I start? These are in NO particular order, just naming them as I think of them. :)

Grease
My Best Friend's Wedding
A League of Their Own
The Sound of Music
Anchorman
Step-Brothers
Breakfast at Tiffany's
The Wizard of Oz

I know I'm not coming up with all of my favorite movies, but it's just so hard!

Lila was 6 months old on Sunday. Her personality is changing so much these days. She is such a happy baby, except when it's time to go to sleep and then she screams. She is a champion sleep fighter! I'm hoping this is just a phase and not something that will continue as she grows.

She can sit pretty much independently and he abs are getting strong enough to where she can sit back up if she's just leaning back at a 45 degree angle. She has been talking up a storm lately, most of the time in the bathtub. She's got bath toys that she has to talk to and she uses them like a microphone. She doesn't say a word until they're up by her mouth...then she goes after it! She's eating all kinds of fun stuff too. We've added in some "Stage 2" foods mostly consisting of 'apples & cherries' or 'bananas & oats' or 'pears & wild blueberries'. It's so much fun to watch her basically inhale these new tasty foods! I'm so happy, though, that she still likes her veggies, sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash are her favorites. Green beans make her gag. I think it's because I can't get them pureed enough. She is going to be trying peas tonight. I haven't made peas, but we're going to go with the Gerber ones. I feel like peas will be hard to get smooth enough too. I always said, just because I don't like something, doesn't mean I'm not going to give my kid the opportunity to try it. BUT (Mom), I draw the line at meatloaf. If you want her to try it, fix it when I'm not there!

She started rolling over a few weeks ago and since then has just kind of stopped. Almost like she's telling me that she could do it, but she didn't want to. So I got to see it and that was that! She's getting a little attitude and I'm already afraid that I'm going to be paying for everything I ever did to my parents! It's a funny joke that God plays on us giving our genes to our offspring. :) I'm sure she'll drive me crazy just like I did my mom!

The first day we got to play outside. I thought this picture was too cute. I love baby feet!

Playing outside with the dogs!

Post #6 - A picture of something that makes you happy

I don't think I can pick just one so I'm going to add a few. A lot of things make me happy and I want say that I wasn't always like this. The last few years have really changed my life. I started "hanging out" with my new best friend, fell in love, and then married him! THEN we had a baby. Nothing has ever made me happier!

My siblings! I am so loving this post already.

Sister: Hannah, 22
Brother: Capel, 16
Brother: Connor, 5

I am the oldest of the kids in my family. My sister, Hannah, is just a few years younger than me. She is such a kind person. She is a giver. She works at a daycare and deals with kids all day and yet when she comes over she plays with Lila like she hasn't been dealing with crazy kids all day. She has a lot of patience. She likes to workout and she stays relatively healthy. :)
Kinda far away, but this is us when I was pregnant this summer

My brother Capel is in high school. He plays basketball. That's all he does. :) Just kidding Capel. No really, he is a good kid. He is smart, athletic, loving, and sometimes funny. He will be 17 this year and that makes me feel SO OLD!!!!!!!!! I was almost 10 when he was born, so I've been a little mommy since then. Sometimes my mom has to remind me that SHE is his mother and I'M his SISTER!
Capel and me at Christmas

I always thought that the phrase "brotha from anotha motha" was just a phrase...until it happened to me! Let me tell ya, this kid is a nut bag. He is literally one of the funniest kids that I've ever been around. He comes up with stuff that seriously just leaves you thinking..."WHAT??". I love this kid so much and he really is a caring, honest, loving little kid. You don't think of 5 year olds as people with big hearts, but this kid really does.
Connor helping us build our fence last summer. HARD WORKER

Also, I'd like to do a SHOUT OUT to my momma, Debbie who is the big 5-0 today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!!!!!! I LOVE YOU! MUAH

My parents are great!

Mom - Debbie
My mom is great! She is loving, helpful, kind, giving, well I could go on forever. She has helped us so much since having Lila, not that she didn't before. If you're a mom, you know, sometimes all you want IS you mom. You don't always want other there helping you, you just want your mom.

Dad - Brandon
Dad is funny, stern, to the point, and widely known as a man of few words. What he does say, he means.

Step-Mom - Deanna
Outgoing, helpful, fun, giving....

Step-Dad - Denzil
Can do pretty much anything and everything and if he can't, he'll figure it out. He is very knowledgeable about so many things. He's always helpful and would do anything for just about anyone.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lila has since rolled over just a few times. She knows how to do it, but is really just like "Mom, I did it for you. I'm not going to do it over and over just to please you". Her shoulders still aren't very strong so I'm trying to get her on her tummy for longer periods of times so she can strengthen her shoulders and get prepared to crawl. She can sit up all by herself and tips to the left or right a little less every day.

We are trying to start to stay in a better routine throughout the week so her life can be a little more stable. We went to Capel's ballgames all season. While these games were mostly on the weekends, we had to schedule events during the week because we couldn't do them on the weekend. I'm hoping that a more regular schedule will help her sleep better. We will always continue to go go go, but perhaps on a smaller scale from now on!

Post #3 - 30 Day Challenge/Lila rolls over!

Post 3-Your first love

My first love, I have to say was Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block. Sorry Neil, but it's true! ;) I loved him!! I can remember dancing around in my room at the young age of about 7 or 8 in my NKOTB pajamas. Then when I got tired enough, falling asleep in my NKOTB sleeping bag; getting up in the morning and playing with my Joey and Jordan "Barbie" dolls. I liked Jordan, but I always had a special thing with Joey! :)

He is really the first human I can remember thinking, "I love him"! Heehee. I'm laughing out loud right now while taking this jaunt down memory lane.

So not 30 min after I wrote the post the other day on me being worried that Lila would never roll over, I got her home and bam...she just rolled over and over and over and over! She went from belly to back and then went from back to belly. She won't do the latter as often because she enjoys being on her back.

I was such a proud momma. My friend Ashley came over and watched her that day. I told her that she can watch her anytime she wants!! She does all kinds of fun stuff! Baby workouts, baby yoga, roll over practice...obviously! She won't admit that Lila rolled over for her. If she did, that's fine, but thanks for letting me have that moment! :) Love you Ash!
